Francis House has been providing supportive services to Tampa's HIV/AIDS Community for almost 25 years.
Our services include support groups, mental health counseling, relapse prevention, breakfast and lunch daily, transportation assistance, medical and housing case management, emergency assistance payments, a food pantry and HIV testing.
Our mission is to provide these services in a safe environment designed to encourage and empower those affected to become self-sufficient members of our community.
All services are designed to prevent homelessness and keep clients in medical care.
Founded by a Franciscan Sister of Allegany in 1990, Francis House is the oldest HIV service organization in the Tampa Bay area. Last year, Francis House provided over 11,000 meals to the HIV community and distributed over $30,000 worth of food and hygiene items.
Our medical case managers made sure that no client was denied access to medications and other basic needs. Francis House follows a day-respite model and is a safe place for those struggling with their diagnosis to come and find the support they need.
Francis House utilizes a local food bank to stock our food pantry. $5 allows us to buy canned goods, juices, cereals, pastas and hygiene items that clients rely on to meet their basic needs.
Our facility is open year round. To arrange a visit, please email our Executive Director, Joy Winheim at [email protected] or call at 813-237-3066. We are approximately 5 minutes from Downtown Tampa and 15 minutes from Tampa International Airport.
What To Bring
We would love for visitors to bring a hygiene item. Soap, shampoo, toothpaste, deodorant, toilet paper, etc.
