Feed A Child Reduce Child Malnutrition in Guatemala
Indigenous Maya communities in rural Guatemala have some of the highest rates of child malnutrition in the world. We work with parents and community leaders to combat this problem.
Our program provides high quality nutritional supplements to children, together with other essential medical services, including routine health checks, growth monitoring, deworming, and anemia detection and treatment. Nutrition education group classes are provided to caregivers, to empower them to make good nutrition decisions for their children, and individualized support is given as well through home-based visits from community health workers.
$5 will provide a high-quality vitamin and micronutrient supplement to a child for 1 month, improving growth and brain development and reducing diarrhea and respiratory illnesses.
